Wheelchair Curling is a Home Nation (HN) organised sport and the respective HN teams all seek to qualify for the wheelchair Curling World Championships, which are held every year apart from the year in which the Winter Paralympics Games are held
Wheelchair Curling is open to male and female athletes who are not ambulant or who can only walk short distances. Their disability must be of a permanent nature.
Wheelchair Curling is an adaptation of curling for people with a mobility impairment, it is played with the same stones and on the same ice as regular curling. The only exception to the normal rules is that no sweeping is allowed.
